'I am not selling you my dog!': Entitled father tries to buy dog trainer's personal puppy, and when she refuses, he tries to steal the doggo in broad daylight

Some days, we just don't understand the internet. We see a lot of weird stories online here at the Animal Comedy offices, like previous owners demanding new pawrents return their dog to them, or a homeowner finding a fish in their yard despite living miles away from the ocean. We even see cute ones like a polar fox escaping the zoo, but getting caught napping on his way out. But none of these stories can ever compare to the audacity of hoomans. Especially the one below!

While taking their puppy to the beach for some training, this dog trainer encountered an entitled father who took a suspicious interest in her doggo. He then proceeded to ask her how much she wanted for the dog, which is a strange question because it's her dog in the first place. He then demands she sell the dog to him, claiming that she can just train another one! Obviously upset, she decides to leave with her dog, when he makes one last attempt to make the dog his.     running the dog through some drop-stays and recalls, and other things that are good to reinforce in a high distraction environment, with lots of other of leash dogs and people around. After maybe 10mins she releases the pup to have a run

    and a play with the other dogs and sits down on the beach to watch him play, occasionally recalling him to reinforce the behaviour before letting him explore and play again.

  • Our doggo loves the beach. It's her favorite place in the world. As soon as her toesies touch the sand, she sprints off with a smile on her face. She goes full zoomie mode - we love to see it and see her so happy.

    As she is sitting there watching she is approached by a father who is with a couple of kids, which isn't odd for this particular off leash area, as it isn't too far from the main beach. the convo goes as follows:

    They both watch him play for a minute or so and make more small talk, my wife still recalling him every so often. EF: How is he with kids?

  • You know what would be easier than all of this? Getting a dog and taking them to a good trainer. A good trainer is essential to having a well-behaved dog. Consider it an investment for the next (hopefully) 15 years of your life.

    MinilceSniper That's horrible. I wish he would have gotten arrested. The fact that he has the balls to go back and try to steal more after most people are well aware of him, is just crazy. I hope he ends up getting arrested.
